This Disclaimer applies to the Luxleaf mobile application ("the App"). It forms part of, and should be read together with, the Terms of Use. Capitalized terms have the meaning given in the Terms of Use.
The App identifies plants from a photo using a model that runs on your device. Identification is a statistical estimate. It can be wrong, and it can return a result that looks confident but is incorrect, particularly for young plants, damaged or atypical specimens, cultivars and hybrids, plants outside the model's coverage, and photos taken in poor light or from an unhelpful angle. Do not rely on the App's identification as the sole basis for any decision where being wrong could cause harm.
Where the App shows whether a plant is reported to be toxic to people or to particular animals, that information is general reference material and is not specific to your situation. Plant toxicity varies by species, by the part of the plant, by quantity, by preparation, and by the individual person or animal. The App cannot account for these factors and does not know which plant you actually have. Treat any toxicity indication as a prompt to check further, not as a verdict.
Do not eat, prepare, or give to a person or animal any plant on the basis of the App. If a person or animal may have eaten or been harmed by a plant, do not wait and do not rely on the App: contact a doctor, a poison control center, or a veterinarian immediately, and bring a sample of the plant if you safely can.
Watering, light, soil, feeding, and other care guidance in the App is general and is not tailored to your specific plant, your home, your climate, or local conditions. Following it does not guarantee that a plant will survive or thrive. Use your own judgment and observation of the actual plant.
The light meter estimates illuminance from the device camera. It is intended to help you compare locations and judge whether a spot is bright or dim for plant-care purposes. It is not a laboratory-grade or professionally calibrated light meter, its readings depend on your specific device, camera, and how you hold it, and it should not be used where an accurate or certified measurement is required.
The App does not provide medical, veterinary, horticultural-professional, legal, or other professional advice, and using it does not create any professional relationship. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified professional.
You are responsible for how you use the App and for the decisions you make. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and subject to the limitations in the Terms of Use, we are not liable for harm to plants, people, animals, or property resulting from reliance on identification results, toxicity or care information, or light readings provided by the App. Nothing in this Disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
