Luxleaf measures how much light a spot gets with your phone's camera, identifies plants from a photo, and keeps a care schedule built around the light each plant actually receives.

Common questions

Which camera does the light meter use, and how do I hold the phone?

The light meter reads the front camera — the same side as the screen. Face that side toward the window or lamp, hold the phone at the same spot and height as the plant, and keep it still for a second while the reading settles. Do not point it back at yourself, and avoid aiming straight into a bare bulb or the sun.

Why does a reading say it is "rough" or show low confidence?

In very dim light the camera is near its noise floor, so the exact number is an estimate and the app says so. The light level (for example, low light versus bright indirect) is still reliable. Move to the spot you actually want to measure and take the reading there.

Is my data private? Do I need an account?

No account, and no sign-in. Plant identification and the light-meter calculations run on your device. Your photos, light readings, and plant records are stored on your device, not on our servers. The App contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Why does the app ask for location?

Only to plan sunlight for a spot, using a coarse, city-level location. It is optional — you can decline it and type a city name instead.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Luxleaf, and change or cancel there. A free trial, if offered, must be canceled at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged.

I paid before — how do I restore my purchase?

Open the paywall in the app and tap Restore purchase. Restoring uses the Apple ID that made the original purchase.

How do I delete my data?

Because your data lives on your device, deleting the app removes it. There is nothing stored on our side to delete.
